A LEEF grant in 2004 provided for the original weather station for Longmeadow High School through a company called WeatherBug, which was bought out by Earth Networks. The weather station is on the roof of the high school and broadcasts to the internet from a cable connection to a transmission box in the Science office. LHS has a monitor outside the Science office that displays information from the roof. The data on the website is kept for months and many variables of data can be looked at and graphed. Longmeadow Public Schools has partnered with Earth Networks as well and now the lightning detector and siren for sports are connected to this account.
