The Longmeadow High School Parent Advisory Council (LHS PAC) is reaching out to you today to invite you to become a PAC member! Our first PAC meeting is at LHS (Main Office conference room) on September 26th at 8:30 AM. Bring a friend! We promise the meeting will be brief and the coffee will be hot! Please consider joining the PAC: www.lhspac.org (Donate button is located on far right, bottom of the web page)
What does PAC membership really mean? Being a part of the LHS PAC means you’ll have the opportunity to be even more informed about events and items of interest at LHS. You’ll be asked to vote occasionally on proposed PAC expenditures. And, you’ll be welcomed at PAC meetings, which provide a direct communication link to other LHS parents and the LHS administration and take place every six weeks or so.
LHS PAC is committed to supporting the students and staff of Longmeadow High School. This is an exciting time at LHS. We have a school that is rich in academics, athletics, the arts, clubs, community service and special events. With your support, and your membership dollars, the PAC can strengthen LHS programs and events and provide additional tools to help our students succeed.
Welcome to the new school year!

Please allow this to serve as a quick reminder about a few items for tomorrow, Thursday, August 31st.
- Students in grades 9-11 should report to their homerooms by 7:44 AM.
- Seniors should report directly to the LHS Auditorium for a 7:44 class assembly.
- The traffic pattern plan for LHS is the same as it was last year and we based this on input/insight from students, parents, the DPW and the Longmeadow Police Department. Please remember that the far end (closest to Bliss Road) of the student parking lot is an exit only. Please remember to use the inner lane of the horseshoe, pull up as far as you can and drop off anywhere along the curb, respect buses and drive slowly while on campus. Also, please do not drop students off at the entrance of the teacher parking lot because it causes traffic back-ups and is unsafe.
- There are plenty of bicycle racks on campus that students can use if they want to ride their bikes to school. Please bring your own lock.
Thank you and have a safe, healthy school year.

Student schedules for 2017-18: For students in grades 9 through 12, schedules will be available for viewing on the PowerSchool Public Portal beginning on August 14th. For students who are new to the district, schedules will be mailed home. Guidance Counselors will be available August 22, 23, 24, and 25 for schedule conflicts only. The Counseling staff will not be available for any schedule changes prior to August 22nd. We will again be using the online sign-up system called Sign-Up Genius. We will be sending the Sign-Up Genius link to the students’ school email on the afternoon of Monday, August 14th.
We ask that students sign up for one time slot only. For students who have a sibling at the high school, please make sure that each sibling signs up for their own slot, one slot per student. Students who are unable to come in on these days or are unable to get a time slot should email the conflict issue to their counselor. If a student’s conflict cannot be resolved through the email, they should see their counselor during the first week of school (before and after school and during ICE blocks). Guidance Counselors will not be available for schedule conflicts during the Professional Development Days on August 28 and 29 or on August 30th, the Freshman and New Student Orientation Day.
The first day of school is Thursday, August 31st. Underclass students should report to their homeroom and all seniors to the auditorium. Enjoy the rest of your summer and we look forward to seeing you on August 31st.
