THE OBJECTIVE OF THE LONGMEADOW HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC PROGRAM is to have a well-rounded athletic program. Permanent values such as fair play, loyalty, team work, resourcefulness, determination, leadership-to mention only a few-result from a sound athletic program. Every student is encouraged to participate in one or more sports on the Freshman, Junior Varsity, or Varsity level.

Students should participate in the athletic programs – by interacting with a group, they develop lasting friendships with other students, loyalty to the school, and an understanding of teamwork and fair play. Students participating in different types of activities gain a variety of experiences making worthwhile contributions to LHS. The school provides equal opportunity for all students to participate in intramural and interscholastic sports.

Athletes should meet at practice sites at least 15 minutes before the time scheduled. Participation Paperwork: – Before the 1st day of tryouts/practices, all registration forms and paperwork must be completed and signed, as well as the online payment and a current physical (with-in the last 13 months and if the physical expires during the season, the student-athlete must receive another physical or will be ruled ineligible until a new physical is received.). No student-athlete can participate without a current physical. For your convenience, this mandatory paperwork must be completed online. All of the links can be found on the athletic web page and will walk you through the process step by step. If all of these steps are not completed, then your son or daughter will be held out of tryouts/practice until they are.
