Adolescence can be the best of times or feel like the worst of times. If you are experiencing a difficult time, you have a safe, confidential place in the high school to sort things out. Students can talk about stress, depression, anxiety, social issues, family issues, or whatever they would like. An appointment is not necessary.
My name is John Devine, Clinical Social Worker at the high school. I have been providing professional, caring, confidential counseling to Longmeadow students and their families since 1985. Students can meet with me briefly or schedule ongoing appointments to deal with stress that is interfering with their academic or social functioning. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) trained at Columbia University and Ackerman Family Institute. I have worked with adolescents and their families for 35 years in outpatient settings and private practice as well as the high school. I look forward to helping you have the best possible high school experience.
I am also the Indoor Track and Field coach for the boy's and girl's and the girl's Outdoor track coach. We usually have teams of 150 Indoor and 75 Outdoor, so I hope to get to know many of you.
