Underage Drinking in Longmeadow has been rescheduled for  Monday, May 1st at 7pm in the LHS Auditorium.  This is open to all parents and teens accompanied by a parent. 

Course Selection for 2017- 2018 -

The Guidance Counselors have completed the process of meeting with students during their Physical Education/Health classes to review their course requests for next year.  Parents and students can check the course requests by logging into the PowerSchool portal and selecting the “Class Registration” icon.  Any students who have not met with their counselor to review their course requests for the 2017-18 academic-year should see their Guidance Counselor as soon as possible and no later than Thursday, April 13th.  All course waivers are also due on April 13th.  There are no guarantees for late waivers and all will be considered on a case by case basis.

AP Exams final registration day -

The final registration day for all AP Exams is April 13th at 12 noon. The current late fee for one exam is $143 and checks can be made payable to Longmeadow High School.

Drama Club Play rescheduled -

The Drama Club play originally scheduled for tonight (3/31) and tomorrow (4/1) has been rescheduled.  Performances will now be held on Sunday, 4/2 at 2:00 pm as well as both days next weekend at 2:00 pm.

Attention Senior Parents -

The LHS Guidance Department invites you to attend the Paying for College Seminar being held on April 5th at 6:30 P.M. in the LHS Business and Technology Center. MEFA, Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority, is presenting a free seminar entitled Paying for College Seminar to assist parents of high school seniors in putting together a plan for paying for college. Families will have the opportunity to ask specific questions about their financial aid awards and will receive information regarding:
Calculating their tuition bill

  • Payment plans and college financing options
  • Working with the financial aid office if there are unique financial circumstances, such as job loss or reduction of income
  • Programs benefitting Massachusetts residents attending college in-state and out-of-state

Families are encouraged to bring their award letters if they are interested in meeting with the MEFA representative after the presentation.

A play, written and directed by Shannon Plankey, Class of 2018, will be performed by the LHS Drama Club on Friday, March 31st at 7:00 PM and on Saturday afternoon, April 1st at 2:00PM. Tickets are $4.00 and can be purchased at the door. The dress rehearsal at 3:00 on Friday afternoon is free to LHS students and faculty.

Two-hour delay -

To ensure the readiness of the roads, sidewalks and parking lots, Longmeadow Public Schools will open following a two-hour delay on Wednesday, March 15.  In the unlikely event that conditions require a full cancellation, you will be notified by 5:30 a.m. Please remember that when we return to school on Wednesday, it will be a Day 2, followed by Thursday, which will be a Day 4 as originally scheduled.

Snow Day #3 -

Due to the Blizzard Warning issued by the National Weather Service, Longmeadow Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, March 14.  All school and district offices will be closed as well.
